Descriptioninstance_create_layer() has the depth based alternative instance_create_depth();

It would be helpful to have an alternative for 1.x ability to quickly add a sprite to an arbitrary position and depth (via tile_add()), currently in 2.0 this requires supplying a layer_id with:

layer_sprite_create(layer_id, x, y, sprite)

something akin to:


Possibly with a better name(?), would be ace.
