|Summary||0020015: Android: Splash Screens greater than 1024x768 cause OutOfMemory crash on low-end devices|
|Description||Android Splash Screens greater than 1024x768 cause OutOfMemory crash on low end devices. This should be mentioned somewhere as it cordons off a big part of the Googleplay market unnecessarily.|
Devices where this crash happens include:
HTC Desire 600 Dual SIM (cp3dug)
Galaxy Exhibit (codinaMetroPCS)
Galaxy Core Plus (cs02)
Xperia Miro (ST23i)
If you don't have any of those devices you can get a Samsung Metro PCS on amazon for $35.
Be sure to install the game on the device, the YoYoRunner uses the YYR splash screen which is small enough to not cause memory problems.

Will need to reproduce here. Although if the phone has issues even showing your splash screen, it's likely not a phone you want to include as a supported device on your Android control panel...
||This report is now old enough that these old devices are now super-old devices, so we'll just add a more explicit mention into the manual to be aware of the need to use small texture page sizes when intending to support older devices.|
