Summary0016720: iOS: local push notifications badge count does not reset
DescriptionThe icon badge does not get reset after local push notification.

1. Add a function called push_local_notification_ext(fire_time, title, message, data, badge_count);

2. Add a function called push_notification_set_badge(badge_count); [Zero will remove the badge automatically]

This combination of two functions will offer the best functionality. It is useful for remote notifications as well - if a remote notification sets a badge count it cannot be reset, same as for local notifications.

If this is too complicated, then the best solution would be to reset the badge number to 0 when the application becomes active (your second suggestion). It is better than not setting the badge at all, because a badge can attract the user to launch the game.

Unable to confirm now, as missing required device. If this still happens in the current GMS2 release, then we will investigate a fresh report. Closing.
