|Summary||0014381: Suggestion: 2.x Tutorial: Simple platformer tutorial/demo using the built-in physics variables and box2D|
|Description||I think there should be a couple variations of the simple platformer tutorial.|
One that uses the standard classic physics variables gravity, friction, speed etc. and checks against objects for collisions (instead of tile map).
The current tutorial feels a bit more "advanced" for any new GM user to follow. It should be a little easier in my opinion using the terms (gravity, speed etc.) that the user feels comfortable with.
And there should be a second tutorial that demonstrates how to recreate the same platformer using the physics API, so that the user can judge and decide which system feels easier or better for their case.

||Mark and I both already have similar plans for tutorials along this line (and I do agree completely with what you describe), but FYI we're a little way off either plan being done.|
|I understand, perhaps could be added when more features come for novice users, e.g. more action libraries, drag and drop features etc.|
||Closing as this suggestion has been acknowledged.|
