|Summary||0011711: Suggestion: UI: Automatically set sound properties based on the source file|
|Description||When importing sounds to GMS, the editor sets the default values to 16bit, mono, 44,100khz, 192kbps. However, it's VERY unlikely that all the source files you load are going to have those properties, meaning that you have to manually set them to be as close as possible to avoid getting "inflated" output files at a higher quality (with no perceptible improvement of the audio).|
I would like to suggest that this is done for you automatically by GMS. It should check the source file and set the quality settings to the closest match possible. this would increase workflow and also give users a starting point to change anything.
I would suggest too that all music/mp3 files are also tagged as compressed by default as un-compressed dramatically increases the final executable file size.

|Maybe, while you're at it, add a checkbox to simply copy from source to avoid double recompression of compressed source files.|
||Moving to 2.x IDE Suggestions. Won't be done in 1.4 now, but GMS2 has not addressed this yet, so the suggestion is still valid.|
